EVEN A ROSE HAS ITS THORN

This poem relays how nobody is perfect, how everyone has strength and weaknesses and how these weaknesses should be embraced and worked upon for they too can be undeniable strengths. 

A scarlet flower of picturesque beauty,

A gem for royalty to adorn,

But that is not it's only duty,

For even a rose has its thorn.

The sky on earth shimmering blue,

A journey to embark,

However one must tread with chary too,

For even the ocean has its shark.

The giant freckled with rocky terrain,

Where the mighty river is born,

However it maybe of disdain,

That even a mountain has its storm.

The living lantern shining bright,

With many a dangling string,

It sure can put up a fight,

For even a jellyfish has its sting.

A loyal companion by your side,

A brave and daring knight,

But there maybe times you have to hide,

For even a dog has its bite.

You see no creature is flawless,

For there's weakness to their might,

Even with light there will come darkness,

But its our choice to fight.

A rose's thorns may not appeal,

But they come handy in a fight,

On closer look it may reveal,

Its flaw makes it strong when used right.

A shark may scare away,

Have a hazardous notion,

But its the shark who claims its prey,

When there's too many fish in the ocean.

A storm may terrify,

And blow away with its might,

But its that storm in the sky,

Which keeps the balance right.

A sting may traumatise,

And break up a fantasised beach date,

But one should realise,

That this saves the jellyfish from a terrible fate.

A bite from a friendly canine might,

Fill one with fear,

But it is this very bite,

That scares all danger which is near.

When one embraces their flaws,

And works on them at length,

It is no longer a lost cause,

For it can be turned into a strength.

Nobody is perfect, not in any way,

But we mustn't be forlorn,

For its true when they say,

Even a rose has its thorn.
