Individuality

‘Unique’ is a word terminated from the dictionary of today’s world. Lost in a flurry of of missing individuality. Furthermore, our stereotypical world continues to perish, one’s cool mind succumbing to the flames of ego, it is like fire and ice, but the ice doesn’t seem to stop melting. It is an incessant battle against yourself, and seldom do you ever win

I notice, on a day to day basis, that children all around me, forget who they are and blindly jump onto the bandwagon. Frankly, they are no more then apes, set on imitating the person they seem fit. Moreover, this evidently shows how insecure everyone has become, doubting their own abilities and criticizing themselves.

“The greatest prison people live in, is the fear of what others think.” Todays generation, is set upon changing themselves solely based on what others think. This remains an immovable boulder, blocking the path up the mountain of success. It is conspicuous in society, how imperative it is to attain a social status and people forget the value of individuality in doing so. However charming the reward is, one must remember that there is no better prize than that of satisfaction.

Acceptance, is a word full of diversity. However, we look at it with only one eye. To us, acceptance means to be accepted by others, but It hides a secret which our ignorant minds have trouble discovering. Brene Brown once said “let go of who you think you are meant to be and be who you are”. That is the true definition of acceptance, accept who you are, before letting society accept you.

If being yourself makes you crazy, then there is no harm in being so. You know you are a star in the sky, and even though everyone else doesn’t know that, they still stare at you in amazement every night. You know that you soar above everyone else, maybe they don’t notice you because you are too high. If you know who you are you don’t need to worry about others. You are who you are, and that is what makes you beautiful.

  6. Superb insight Parth. Sadly most people live their lives thinking about WOWS ( what others will say), rather than utilising the same energies towards a more discriminative way of thought and action.
Have you ever tried to change this way of thinking amongst your friends?
