The Monkey And The Crocodile

This is a different take on the classic fable the monkey and the crocodile. It is how these two fictional characters exist in the real world and play their respective roles, and even when they do so, how we must continue on our journey and achieve our goal.

The monkey and the crocodile, share classified information,
They both exist in the real world, and cause joy or lamentation.
Jumping or fooling, biting or tearing,
Fooling and schooling, glaring and staring.

The monkey to begin with is surely very smart,
For it can confuse you, mend or break you heart.
Jumping around in the trees of emotion,
In your brain causing a commotion.

It will steal your sense and control you,
Fool you, and make lies out of things true.
Push you to take unwise choices,
convince you in various deceiving voices.

But there is a way to tame this rascal,
You have think hard like Einstein and Pascal.
Stick to your values and make your own decisions,
Your heart won't break if you pursue your own ambitions.

The crocodile however is the more dangerous one,
Its everyone around you who you outshone.
It'll bite you and claw you and tear you down,
With hurtful words and it will make you frown.

It will make you seem small and scare you away,
Make you hesitant and push you astray.
It'll foil you job with crazy superstitions,
Make your life forever an intermission.

There is still a way to defeat this animal,
Stay true to yourself and don't be eaten by this cannibal.
Stand up and fight, don't be dragged on the floor,
For you know that you're worth much more.

This is how the crocodile and monkey exist before us,
How they make us cry and cause a fuss.
But it has been proven that they can be defeated,
And everyone can be fairly treated.

That concludes this metaphorical rhyme,
And a life lesson at the same time.
The monkey and crocodile will never die,
But it is your duty to fight and never heave a sigh.

Trust

Trust, as defined by the dictionary is the belief in the reliability, truth or ability of someone or something. However, I believe that it doesn't end there. Trust, is the interdependence between two individuals, who willingly support and depend on each other, forming a mutual bond and incapability to lie. It is the ability to confide in yourself and stride with confidence, make undoubted decisions and  support them with pride.

On the other hand, in todays world, trust has become an excuse to deceive, lie to and take advantage of other people. It has been devoured by the violent spirit of extreme competition, for life has become a race and by hail come storm every individual must win it. "Trust takes years to build, seconds to break and and forever to repair" these words have been twisted into; "trust takes too long to build, therefore, people use it do deceive and forget about repair." This crucial value has become history, and history is forgotten. The bond of Friendship is a shipwreck, plundered for gold and then joyfully abandoned. "Who came first" ; "No you are wrong" "tell me and I'll tell you" , these are the words I here in the classroom everyday, and this just further proves my point. Adding on, the exchange of trust is just like the devious plan of a charlatan, trust-steal-move on. Is it just that our world has to suffer from such a plague, where trust is the biggest lie and friendship doesn't exist?

"He who does not trust enough, cannot be trusted" These words spoken by by Lao Tzu are the perfect representation of Trust in todays world. Society cannot be and is not trusted, but one who does not put enough faith in others, too is looked upon as a secretive personality who is not interested in the well being of others. This reciprocal action is constantly repeated. That is what makes the world a snake, every single person or part of the snakes body will seem harmless until it strikes, and when it does so its lethal bite is unstoppable.

On the contrary, some anti-venoms still exist in this world. We must trust ourselves and others will certainly trust us. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string. This means, in my perspective, that we must trust ourselves, be confident and be proud of who we are. This firm assurance resonates with others. Therefore, they are capable of truly trusting us. Furthermore, undoubted decisions and smart steps in this race of life will help you not drown in the ocean of comparison, devious decisions and false promises. Additionally, self trust provides you with reassurance, which gives you the ability to believe in who you trust. Trust in oneself, is imperative, for then only shall you stand strong in this world of hypnotism.

To conclude, I personally believe that trust and friendship are bonds that anything can be profligated on. They must be cherished for they do not last for long. If life is a race, we must pave our own path. If the world is a snake,  we must walk with a stick. If trust has been devoured, plate it up again. If friendship is a ship wreck, don't worry there is an island near by. If the world is of hypnotism, close your eyes in turn. If the exchange of trust is a charlatan, report it to the police. IF TRUST DOESN'T EXIST ANYMORE, RESURRECT IT FROM DEATH, FOR IT IS AN IMPORTANT PIECE OF THE JIGSAW PUZZLE CALLED LIFE.
